Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2017, Volume 18, Issue 7,   Pages 1002-1020 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1601401

Abstract: The task is formulated as a non-linear problem integrating two complementary spline regressors and strengtheningFirst, two spline regressors with a complementary nature are constructed based on multivariate adaptiveregression splines (MARS) and smooth thin plate spline regression (TPSR).a clustering hypothesis and semi-supervised learning is proposed to assist the training of MARS and TPSRof MARS and TPSR.

Impact force detection using an energy flow estimator with piezoelectric sensors

Xingjun WANG, Daniel GUYOMAR, Kaori YUSE, Mickaël LALLART, Lionel PETIT,

Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering 2010, Volume 5, Issue 2,   Pages 194-203 doi: 10.1007/s11465-010-0004-2

Abstract: Currently, there are numerous methods for estimating impact locations. One is to find more detailed information because the system becomes complicated. Another method is to reduce energy, for which various autonomic energy harvesting methods have been developed. However, the occupied energy is still small. This paper proposes a simple, rapid, and low-powered impact estimation method based on energy flow direction estimation through a pair of piezoelectric sensors. The estimation energy flow is expressed by a Poynting vector subsequently linked to piezoelectric sensor voltage outputs. The presented approach is verified by numerical simulations and experiments.
